To The Woman I Adore Poem by Emma Woods

To The Woman I Adore

Rating: 4.5

Would just one sensual night be the end to all my days
Could I finally call you mine if we knew no other way
Would you let me kiss your lips though the sin I take is mine
Would you trust me in this mist if we had nowt more than time
Would you hold me if I said that I miss you when you're gone
Would you lay your tired head if I played to you this song
If I kissed you while you slept would you wake to leave me alone
If I held you while you wept would you still return your throne
If I gave to you my love would you return these truthful words
Would you repay me with a lie or truth for what I'm worth
If you slept with me tonight would it be like once before
Would you sleep so close this time leave me pleading you for more
If I could be your love in just a second we'd be one
For you my sweet beloved I forgive the sin be done
Shine on me your light and stay the woman I adore
I'll whisper and recite the words from which I am now torn
If I caould have one night alone with you my blue - eyed angel
If I could be once more reborn could you accept the changes
For who I am is what you're not so could there ever be
Another time just you and I but this no more a dream? ?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, view and concept with the rest of us. You have expressed well the love one has for another, even if it is prohibited, for that is the portrayal you have shared with your words. The imagery that comes through this shows one who loves another the same, but wonders if it will ever be truly reciprocated with the same passion as held by the one whose desires overtake them. Recognition rises of sin, but it does not matter for the love held overrides everything. I can actually comprehend and grasp this well, for there is much similarity in this with a situation some years ago that rose, and the turmoil that ensued because of it. Friendship strengthened, intimacy not. Then images rise of a love pure that can blossom and grow as long as it is reciprocated with the same heart, the way it should be. Hope you don't mind, but found a couple of tweaks needed: One query what is nowt? 8th line you have, 'If I held you while you wept would you still return your throne' suggest, '...still return to your throne' 17th line you have, 'If I caould have one night alone with you my blue - eyed angel' spelling error, could last line you have, 'Another time just you and I but this no more a dream? ? ' suggest, '....but this is no more than a dream or '....but is this no more than a dream? Many blesssings to you
