To the woman who makes me whole,
To she whose thoughts inspire me to build dreams
Higher than the Empire State,
To the damsel who owns my soul,
Upon whose heart I long to find my home.
My love,
My princess,
Mi Reina, Mi Amor.
I could call you 'baby' in a thousand languages,
Yet none would ever compare
To the names I hope we will one day speak together,
Calling to little angels
Who bear your eyes,
Your smile,
And, above all,
Your beautiful heart.
I imagine those days often,
quiet mornings filled with laughter, tiny footsteps echoing through a home we built from love, and your voice softening every corner of my world. I imagine teaching them how to be kind, how to dream, how to love the way you have taught me without even trying.
I have loved you since the moment I met you.
I will love you for all eternity, and beyond,
In this lifetime,
And in every other,
Should there be another.
And if time itself were to forget us, I would still find you in every lifetime, in every version of existence, as if my soul were always searching for yours and never willing to settle for anything less.
To the angel who breathes life into my poetry,
To the goddess at whose gentle breath
Every part of my soul awakens,
I say,
Good morning.
Though you are far from me,
I find myself watching the clock
Instead of my phone,
Counting not just the hours, but the moments between us,
Dreaming of the day
I wake you not with a text,
But with kisses,
Soft caresses,
And a morning so filled with love
That even the dawn would envy its warmth.
I dream of holding you close enough to feel your heartbeat against mine, of whispering your name like a prayer I never want to end, of learning the rhythm of your breath as if it were the only song I ever needed.
Until then,
Every sunrise carries me
One day closer to you.
