In Brighton at 3: 50.
- If you ran faster, we would.
- What would?

____________________________- I could
If you took my bag.
__________________- I’d take
If I had more hands. God makes
Us with two. You needn’t run.
We’re late, Mary. Darn!
Pooh! We’ve got lots of time. But
If you’d talked less or run fast,
Sure, we’d have caught that train.
- I’m so happy we met Jane!
- Darn it! I’m about the same:
If you hadn’t met that Jane,
Everything’d be alright.
I hated her at first sight!
- If we’d taken a cab, we’d
Have had enough time for it.
- Yes, you’d have overlooked Jane… might,
But she’d have stopped us: she’d have cried,
And the cab wouldn’t have saved us.
It looks as if she guards that pass.
