To Your Dream You Must Be True Poem by James S Newcomb Lang

To Your Dream You Must Be True

Rating: 4.5

You’re still young, but soon you'll grow
And find the way you want to go
So choose a path that keeps you well
Within this world in which we dwell

Life’s to short, so live it fully
Don't be the object of the bully
Stand and let your words be heard
Then soar on high like winged bird

Be whatever you want to be
And ignore the sin of jealousy
Strive and reach your full potential
As all else is inconsequential

It matters not what you do
As long as you are always true
To your heart and to your dream
As you meander your life’s stream

But, if you should founder on the rocks
Remember time it never stops
Just take stock of the situation
Then move on to your destination

We’re born, we grow, we live and die
We have to ask and question why
Don’t take for granted all you’re told
Sometimes you have to strike, be bold

In life there are no guarantees
As problems come in by degrees
So face them each and every day
But from your path, try not to stray

Although it’s hard to keep your goal
You know down deep within you soul
That to your dream you must be true
If it is even to come through
