Today... 'The Dayspring From On High' Poem by Roy Allen

Today... 'The Dayspring From On High'

The Dayspring from on high shone down upon the earth
when Jesus became incarnate by virgin birth.
By the tender mercies of God He came to us
to dispel the darkness so deep and grievous.

To prepare the way this Great Son of the Highest
led us in the paths of peace and righteousness.
Giving His people the knowledge of salvation
and bringing remission of sins to each nation.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Luke 1: 76-79
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. (KJV)

The Bible calls You by many names
each one giving a glimpse of Your glory.
Like a cut diamond radiating in the sun
with every facet depicting an aspect
of Your Divine Nature.
Today I have thought of You as
'The Dayspring from on high'
