Today You'Re Mine Poem by Majdoleen (Maggie) Sukayri

Today You'Re Mine

There's something about the way you look at me that makes me shiver.
Why is it that at times I feel your dancing eyes are calling out to me,
Wanting me, yearning… and others, all I see is a hollow gaze?
I wonder how you will receive my expectant emotions today.
Will you courteously throw me a hello behind your back as you walk by me?
Or will you walk in; scan the room in search for me…
And walk towards me with dancing eyes and an infectious smile?

Come to me; speak to me; tell me of what you hide
Let me in; give me the satisfaction no woman has felt
Turn my imaginings to true happenings
Allow me to be the one
The only one to speak of the true you…
The very sight of us gives me millennia of pleasure

Maybe in another time we could've been
Not today, not in this world will I be yours
Too much binds me, too many hold you away

Today, I see no life with you,
So I choose to see life my own way
With a thousand possibilities roaming around in my mind
One day you're my forbidden fruit, I choose to pick from my secret garden
One I have attended to, watered and fed, one that belongs to me…
Another… You're a wandering gypsy crossing my path
In my world you're every man
You're among the rich and famous,
A vague and mysterious man no woman can touch
A world of academia could never fathom…
But deep inside you're mine
You give in to me like a child to its mother's chest

Till today ends, I choose what we'll be…
I choose to be your only love, your every breath, your connection to life…
Till today ends…
