Together Poem by Aimee Nell

Together

So you press your lips to mine
And breathe a breath of new life into me.
Pulling me back when hope was slowly sifting away.
You become the fire,
Melting the ice that consumes me.
The water,
Quenching the burning in my soul.
The electric shock,
That could start my heart again.
Something more to hope for.
To live for
After I had lost almost everything.
If only you can understand
How broken I am.
If only you still want to heal me.
If only neither of us would ever leave.
Then we could soar together.
Fly together,
Holding each other up.
Fight this battle they call life,
Together.

Very powerful writing. I can feel the quivering truth and emotion under every word.
