Together Again Poem by brian naugher

Together Again

The pain is so unbearable since you passed away,
sorrow, my new companion, walks with me every day.
Friends and family gather round to try and ease my fears,
but it's hard to focus clearly when your eye's are full of tears.
Iv'e asked a thousand questions but the answers still the same,
I never understand them, so I'll ask them all again.
You left behind an emptiness a void space that's hard to fill,
what's the point in trying to replace it? I know I never will.

Yet despite all of this heartache I feel for you today,
helped by the loving strength we shared, eventually it will go away.
To be replaced with fondest memories that will lighten up my life,
of the times we spent together when we were man and wife.
So sleep peacefully my darling, take your rest while we're apart,
for one day once again we'll be together, then you can give me back my heart.
