Wondering Child Poem by brian naugher

Wondering Child

As a child I wondered...
A million twinkling stars at night; where do they disappear to in the
morning light?

As a child I wondered...
As I watched the rivers flow; where does all the water come from,
and where does it go?

As a child I wondered...
When I hear birds singing above; do they ever sing of sadness,
or only songs of love?

As a child I wondered...
As rain clouds drift slowly by; how wonderful the angels are
to paint a rainbow in the sky.

As a child I wondered...
When I walk among the trees; do they watch and listen,
and hold secrets in their leaves?

As a child I wondered...
No matter how I often I ask; grown-ups never find the time to play,
they live their lives too fast.

As a child I wondered...
All this beauty that I see; is it true reality,
or just a childhood dream?

I smile as I recall the past, now I've grown and old,
As a child I wondered...That was long ago.
