Together Yet Apart Poem by Andrew Hackett

Together Yet Apart

i lay here next to you,
yet you do not seem to know.
i kissed you on the hand,
yet you do not seem to know.
i whispered i love you,
yet you do not seem to know.

as i try to hold you,
you move an turn away,
as i go to kiss you again,
you move an turn away,
as i go to stroke your hair,
you move an turn away,

for i know not why your here,
for i know not why you came,
you tell me that you love me,
you tell me your in pain,
i want to tell you everything is fine,
i want to tell you everything is ok,
but in our darkest moments,
we never truly say!

the things that matter,
the things we want,
the things we need to say.

so as i lay here i wonder what to do,
i know i love you,
i know i need you,
i know i want you to stay.

but in time too pass an the new option is here, i don’t know what you will do,

just know i love you,
know i care,
know i want you here.
