Tonight It Ends Poem by Michael Silver

Tonight It Ends

Hold me down with chains of gold
And we’ll see just how long they’ll hold
You break me down
When no one is around
You bind me with a lie
And I feel ashamed when you cry
It’s the memory of you that makes me stay
I think about you each and every day
Lord, you say you want to be friends
But tonight it ends
I can’t bare your load
But, honey, you know that I’m sold
You’ve got me in the palm of your hand
But I’m so weak I can’t stand
Go find another boy
I can no longer be your toy
I love you to the end
But it’s too dangerous to be your friend
