Too Many Minds And Matters Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Too Many Minds And Matters

If I were anymore of a distraction,
I'd almost feel my body shimmer in the middle of the mist.
As I catch the eye of passer-bys,
I do not bother trying to stare.
If she were anymore distracting,
I could almost feel myself cease to breathe.
If I could float like a feather into the winds,
I'd dance around her as she sung.
If I could afford any jewel,
I'd spend forever looking for the perfect ring.
Within mind and matter I beg to plee,
there's too many minds.
'My dear, my dear, how I adore thee' - I would sing from my shower.
I couldn't feel any less helpless when you're not around.
If I were anything less then a cup half empty,
it's you who makes me over flow.
On long lazy days, with the sun amongst my company,
I tend to think of your smile.
If you left to fufill the dreams of anyone else,
I may just float away.
As I open my eyes beneath our stars,
I look into the possible infinity -
and I know I'll see you soon.
