Too Much For You Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Too Much For You

Rating: 3.5

Do not fall in love with someone like me.
I will drag you to museums and galleries
And nag you to take walks with me
On moonlit nights when I'm high
And you are tired from your nine to five.

Don't fall in love with a writer like me.
I will lead you on with promises
Of love and sex and breakfast in bed
While I prod and probe your emotions
In search of material for my own poems.

Don't fall in love with a free spirit like me.
I will take from you everything you have to give
And then insist that I must live my own way
And you must go yours, dazed and drained
Of ideas, of trust, of money.

Don't fall in love with someone who loves like me
With her heart and soul set on the goal of Internet celebrity.
