Too Much Grey Poem by Valerie Dohren

Too Much Grey

There's far too much grey in the picture
The skies are meant to be blue
With greyness obscuring the background
Blandness depleting the hue

The world is designed to be coloured
Dipped in a palette more bold
With shimmering lights in the day-glow
Sunshine that's painted in gold

There's far too much brown in the image
Purple and red should be seen
The rainbow is painted in colours
And fields are depicted in green

The world is designed to be coloured
Yellow and bright is the day
Flowers in bloom are so lovely
Chasing the darkness away

There's far too much black in my heart now
A darkness I cannot conceal
I pray for a light to start shining
More colours to sweetly reveal

The world is designed to be coloured
The eyes should be vibrant and bright
Seeing all life in it's glory
Bidding farewell to the night
