Torrential Rain Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Torrential Rain

When heavy rain lashes
clouds mingle with sky
sky is dim lit
feelings different from drizzle
some unknown fear looms
earth will be crushed...
high wind gushing out
trees confronted with
intense wind and rain drops
sound of rain reigns throughout
sky appears omnipotent
with earth in meek surrender
eater, water everywhere
rain doesn't wait
for anybody's prayer to stop
rain has got the mandate
to hit the earth
laws of nature
implemented by Almighty
as night descends
torrential rain
appears more furious
blessed are living beings
who can stay indoor
but it's a curse
for the homeless
feeling panicky
in temporary shelter.
