Toxic Populism Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Toxic Populism

Toxic populism

Is reading a passage of his book
-to fulfill interview…
-I involve with ears, eyes, and mind.

Ian paints on pages
-uses words as his paint
-strokes times and times
-till he gets "The assault
-on truth."

Book is named: "Machines Like Me."

In the midst, I hear of Egypt:
- "Did not build Pyramids;
-Pyramids made Egypt."

Next is time for comment:
- "Same is with Notre-Dame
-and Paris…"

I look at the diamond, crystal
-see them hung in the sky
-silhouette on the arms
-of trees, after fog…

Raindrops perch on trees;
-from buds to trunks.

See the Sun going down;
-somebody flies kite
-with thread, which is far.

Colorful are clouds
-shaping the animals;
-elephant and giraffe
-run free in the wild.

The silver rays of light
-aim and hit the drops
-making the crystals.
-I enjoy looking up.
