Toy Soldiers Poem by Harlan Simantel

Toy Soldiers

Rating: 5.0

like stiff perfect machines
they march
stiff-legged
rank after mechanical rank

robots for war
OBEY!

don't think
duty to violence
the silent unspoken mental link

but humans they are
each a unique creation
with thought and feelings

but 'love of country'
ironically is propaganda-twisted
into destroying another human nation -
kids, moms, dads
brothers, sisters, animals
homes...

DESTROY!
off the 'machines' go!
all to satisfy
some idiots' hatred, greed
and insane ego

Perhaps when the imbeciles bing the rest of New York crashing about youe ears you will re-thng this piece of work.No-one wants an army if there is not a reason for having one in the first place. You put your messag over though loud and clear..Just dont agree with point of view. Sid.
