welcome to the border between
life and what comes then
a one-way journey made after choices
thought, deliberation, banter
nudged in the direction of the trade
that cost twenty years' breath after a month
of agony from the dust inhaled
Sitting still in the soil of ancestors
promised life for many years yet
taking freedom free will and opportunity
in the form of tax, tariff
giving poverty, pain, and insecurity
a few decades traded for a life
giving soil for the dust
3) cont'd: At the pace that he's going at, he will singlehandedly destroy the economies of both Canada and the US. Americans should TRADE him for a politically savvy democratic president. That rules out Vance and most Republicans!
3) I find that what Trump is doing to be thoroughly disgusting and nonsensical. For an allegedly successful businessman, he seems to have lost touch with the dire needs of the economy. He is using microeconomics instead of macroeconomics.
2) M.J., I will soon be revisiting this gem and commenting a little more. Thanks for this ingenious write, Captain Good News!
Talk about BRILLIANT! I'm nowhere close to you, M.J.! But I do like the quarterback/receiver roles that we both seem to seemingly effortlessly relish in. Very happy that my poem inspired you to write this gem.
Thank you so much, Richard. I very appreciate this comment and your brilliance. After I read 'Captain...' I found a light bulb going on. This poem in this form could not exist without Captain Bad News. Many thanks!

I would like to translate this poem
M.J., it's always a pleasure, and honour, to inspire other poets and to be inspired by them!
