Traffic Control Poem by Paul Warren

Traffic Control

On the corner of North Terrace and King William Street
In dark blue serge and checked band complete
A soldier once who stood his ground
In a past war when his courage was so sound

Then traffic control was his call
With the ACME Thunderer blasting for one and all
And no one disputed his authority
On display for all to see

Now he stands only in our memory
Of times past before traffic lights you'd see
As a symbol of law and order then
Of visible crime prevention before its end.
