Transformations Of Love Poem by Shafeeq C P

Transformations Of Love

Rating: 4.0

As a child you loved those
Who could play with you,
Fancying life is just a game.

As you grew into teens
The pursuit for playing persisted
And you wished those
Charming faces to play with,
Imagining life is nothing but
A search for things of beauty.

In your twenties, still being playful
And aesthetic to a larger frame
But with a notion that beauty
Should meet some traits
That make a man human,
You loved, unloved and reloved
Till you find an ever-fixed mark.

In your thirties, still you loved those
Who possessed aesthetic qualities
But not as nice as you loved yourself
To sustain in this mundane world,
Thinking there are other concerns
Than love in this world.

At this clear forties of blended tastes,
Now you are a child, a teen and an adult
You still love those things you loved
And your heart is filled with
Infinite love for the humanity
But you learn to love those
Who deserve love and care
Lest a single love drop is wasted
As you see the visuals
From the contrived pavements
When thousands beg for love
At least in small scales.

Being the augur
Of a quasi-apocalyptic future,
You take conscious effort
To have just and judicious love
Lest your poetic fifties and paltry sixties
Complain about your inability
To love nicely and wisely.
