Vision

Sometimes I pray:
'My Lord
Strengthen my vision
So that I can see
What I should see,
Or read what I should read.'

Sometimes I pray:
'My Lord
Weaken my vision
So I don't have to see
Those unpleasant sights
Or read those misspelt words.'

Each time I prayed
My Lord deferred
His decisions
So that I still pray!
