Transience Poem by Lodigiana Poetess

Transience

Rating: 5.0

The day before nostalgia, is a memory not yet made.
Impermanence the present, that's about to be betrayed.
Change, the only guarantee we know for sure endures,
mortality the price we pay that keeps it ever yours

Like rainbows, when we see them, a sweet promise in the sky,
an arc of living colour born to flourish, then to die.
It's beauty is in dying, such strange idiosyncrasy,
still time, the rolling river, flows unhindered to the sea

Pursue the fleeting sunset, live within the time it's there,
immersed within the present, take it's glory made to share.
Yet nothing lasts for ever, and this too shall pass away,
don't look to make nostalgia, seek the beauty in today.
