Travesty At The Movie Theater Poem by John W. McEwers

Travesty At The Movie Theater

I went to the movies alone
By myself
Bought two tickets
At the counter
Walked in
By myself

Got tired of the previews
So I walked out
By myself
I bought two tubs of popcorn
Two Pepsis
By Myself

Began my trip back to the screening room
Number seven
On the left
Got up to the ticket taker
He asked me
Where's my ticket

I tried to find the stub
But I couldn't
Couldn't even get to my pockets
Didn't want the Pepsis to fall

When I got home
With my two popcorns
My two drinks
No movie seen
I tripped on the stairs
And ruined that other ticket that I bought for the movie
