Treasures Beneath My Feet Poem by Bryan Taplits

Treasures Beneath My Feet

I walked the shore while taking my tour
And shuddered at things sublime,
The future just ahead-
an open mouth to be fed-
And my past
So near-but behind.
The sand so stretched
The East so wet
The West all looking fine
I sighed and shook-
at these sights
(each one of them took)
As I walked and looked
Eager to visit again
all my buried treasures divine.
