Treating A Woman Poem by Randy McClave

Treating A Woman

I never punched a woman
My father told and taught me that I shouldn't,
Never did I angrily pushed or shoved
Unto any woman that I knew or liked or loved.
Out of anger a woman I never did strike
Even if her I didn't know or even didn't like,
And if she had struck or punched me instead
I would just walk away without one word said.
A woman I have never swore at or cursed
I am too well versed,
I would not ever give her the expression or wish of doom
From myself that thought or belief would never bloom.
I would never slander a woman or her name
Just to bring her rumors and gossip and unwanted shame,
Because, I wasn't brought up that way
Be polite and courteous to all women my dad did say.
I was raised to treat all women right
Even if one wanted to argue and or fight,
No matter whoever she was
I was taught to treat her with care and love.
All women I was taught to protect and to defend
Until my very end,
That's why my father said man was put on this earth
And that is why also woman gives birth.
I was taught to put every woman on a pedestal
And then look and listen for her very soul,
No matter if I had just met her
Because, I knew and I was taught better.
