Trip Of Crave Poem by 'Gboyega Towobola

Trip Of Crave

He pedalled softly to be careful,
He laid low to be sure,
Reached to launch but grabbed patience,
Crawled to wisdom,
And ran out with knowledge at hand,
Void of understanding,
For he skipped vital inquiry,
Scared, wanted to see,
Saw, wanted to meet,
Met, he hit the road.

Smooth sailing with no foul,
Rocks were submerged,
But discipline was abused,
Poah! It was nailed,
Reality trailed,
And commitment called,
Distance ignored,
Love gushed like a fountain,
Distance flared,
Blaring like a mountain.

“Care” strengthened indiscipline,
Indiscipline strengthened “crave”,
Pressing issues were shoved,
And questions laid ambush,
The heart became crowded,
Answers were shut out,
Words echoed inconsistently
And gaze became cloudy,
Wisdom watched in silence,
While ears strained with loud tears.

Bells rang repeatedly,
Yet wisdom whispered in silence,
Idols plugged the ears,
Wisdom spoke in silence,
Explanation? Explanation?
Reassurance? Reassurance?
The tongue whipped,
Wisdom yearns silently with concern.
Perception struck.
And... he craved to be right.

…keep on the good works
