Tripp'N' Into Insanity Poem by Jake Andrews

Tripp'N' Into Insanity

so many realities i cannot comprehend
so many marvels from the brain i see
just random waste generated from this plant?
am i an explorer to unknown colors and planes?
the very paper i write transmutes to an array
of relinquishing volleys of things man was never
supposed to see, this is the apple we were
never meant to touch. for i can see what he does
the beauty the color the universe and beyond
i sit on earth and haven't moved yet this galaxy
now seems small and meek. to the asteroids
lumbering in my yard and the planets so far away
how can this even be? in this plant i have
crossed far beyond the eye can see. an
inter dimensional time warp inside my head, space
and time hold no more meaning. oh for an hour
i truly was the smartest man alive for what i see
is beyond all rational comprehension. and here
only knowledge that falls with practicality
even matters at all. i understood things that
made no sense. if only there were a word
to describe insanity. we know almost nothing
about the going ons of anything and to this
i have discovered why we were allowed no
knowledge, for with what little we know
look what we have done. of this glorious
trip i am allowed only a few vague
snapshots of things hardly describable by
words. except, what do my actions matter at all
when confined in this stratospheric bubble in the
black abyss? i go about as if it were the most
important day of all. my actions cannot move a star
or twist a reality, all they can do
is free a mind. and to this i wait in anticipation for
death
