Troubled Waters Poem by M C Wright

Troubled Waters

At which place have we arrived my darling son?
What events overtook us, what could we have done?
Is there no other newer route that we could take?
It is you I need and you need me for goodness sake
So many years have passed no single word spoken
And yet no one was truly hurt and nothing was broken
You must know quite well I could have done no more
Are you beyond reproach? Can you say for sure?
The truth of it is written all across the page
How old must I be before you come of age?
The river is still a torrent in your very angry face
You must find a bridge that brings you to this place
I have never gone away from this place that you know
Hoping only time will calm your troubled mind so
Let us become what we were created to be and more
I am a mother and you are the son that I adore
