Troublesome Guy Poem by Trevor Toews

Troublesome Guy

There's this troublesome guy,
He's pretty upset with me.
He's always whining,
Complaining, repining,
About my resolve and obstinacy.

See, I made a decision,
To do what I thought was the best.
But he's scolding, berating,
It's so irritating!
He's upbraiding me for leaving the life that I left.

So, I make a commitment,
And purchase the treasure that money can't buy.
But he just gets bolder,
At tapping my shoulder,
And nagging to me that the price is too high!

I told him to leave,
But he's just like a bothersome leech.
He keeps finding me
And reminding me
That I'll never maneuver outside of his reach.

I get tired of him,
And sometimes I give him the knife.
But he strongly objects,
And he resurrects,
This troublesome guy,
The implacable bane of my life.
