True Lies Poem by Heartbeat Terrorist

True Lies

Rating: 3.0

As she looks around
she sees the world for what it really is
A place of haterid and despise
where love isnt so common in life
A world of murder and of grime
where there just is no time

Beyond the fakeness is where she looks
To see the cruel truth no one wants to accept
Children with out homes
where the weak do nothing but roam
War soldiers who sit all alone
and hold on to there broken homes

Between the lies is where her eyes seek
The truth is what they precieve
A young girl raped
and now hides behind her cape
A lifeless corpse now lays dead
for help had came too late

What has this world come to?
From the surface we see love, friends, and joy
But what happens when we come across a slueth
Who discovers the real truth

This is a poem that speaks to our times. It does so, through the fresh eyes of the young. Would that all the world could see through young eyes. The verses are somewhat fractured but the meaning is not lost. GW62
