True Love Poem by Alexander Thomas

True Love

When all the world is against us and the heavens too,
How can I be true? How can I be true?
But when I saw the light of your soul and to you I grew,
How could I not be true? How could I not be true?
When Oceans separate us and we are swallowed by blue,
How can I be true? How can I be true?
But when grace found us as the cruel wind of fate blew,
How could I not be true? How could I not be true?
I looked beyond the furthest places but the mirror would not let me through,
How can I be true? How can I be true?
But when I heard your call in my dreams I always knew,
How could I not be true? How could I not be true?
When time keeps falling away from us and the faces of the day are always new,
How can I be true? How can I be true?
But as long as we breathe the same air I will always love you,
How could I not be true? How can we be as one instead of separated in two?
But because in forever reaching for each other you found a purer love for me and I for you,
How can we be true? Maybe we were always supposed to be split in two?
