Truths Of A Woke Mind Poem by Randy McClave

Truths Of A Woke Mind

Many symptoms of a woke mind
First of all do not be intentionally blind,
Know what is fake and what is real
And never surrender your will.
You read books and you don't ever burn them
As dictators do to control her or him,
They tell you what books you cannot read
They want to plant in your mind the doubting seed.
You must embrace knowledge and science
Don't stand in stupidity or defiance,
It was created by the Lord our God
And neither one of them is a lie or a fraud.
You are willing to change your mind when new information becomes available
You will not hide truth or facts under the table,
Whenever you look and understand facts
That is when the controlled and the gullible attacks.
You understand that most issues are not black and white
Not everything is just wrong or right,
You, yourself must search out the vital truth
Then you must become a persistent sleuth.
You believe in true equality and justice for all people
As if you are standing under the very same steeple,
And no matter their belief or the color of their skin
You will always allow them to enter in.
You like to contribute and share
And you love to help and also to care,
And no matter if someone has fallen in the sand
You will always reach out to help them stand.
You embrace cooperation
And you accept it with a soulful celebration,
You believe that we should always be there for each other
With strength and help we should stand with another.
You always respect other people's rights
Underneath all situations and under all lights,
No matter who they are or from where they come from
We must support their individual freedom.
You believe culture and the arts have importance
It effects both me and you with significance,
You must see and feel and understand the beauty
And never ever being ignorant or snooty.
You care for the planet and all of its life
You want no pain or strife,
You know that every person must show their total worth
By protecting and defending our own Mother Earth.
