Trying To Be Somebody Poem by Aidan Clevinger

Trying To Be Somebody

These people around me must hurry,
There isn't time to waste.
We've got to get a move on,
If we want to win the race.

The city lights and busy streets,
The successful careers and fancy cars,
It seems we're trying so hard to be somebody,
That we've forgotten who we are.
