Tug Of War - Poem by Bridget Bush

I am but a rope in this game of tug of war
being yanked forcefully back and forth
my feelings don't pertain to both of you in your heads
yet it's me you fight over
one deserves me, the other can't have me
and i have to make the decision
I can hurt both of you in so many ways I can't conceive
and still I am the one that has to take action
but what can a rope do besides break?
