Tug Of War Poem by Algem Paul Cabrera

Tug Of War

The more I give, the less I receive,
I gave you my all, which I can't believe.
You looked happy without a care,
While I felt lost, a lonely despair.

Last time I saw you, you passed me by,
On my way down by the bay, I let out a sigh.
Poured out my rants and regrets that day,
But I missed your presence in a strange way.

Why am I acting like this, in such a crisis?
I want to forget you, erase your existence.
But then you appear again, wasting your time,
Chasing me down at the grocery line.

I just want to run and escape this plight,
To finally set my mind free and take flight.
