Twice A Year Poem by Randy McClave

Twice A Year

I am religious only 2 times a year
Only when the Christian holidays are here,
When it's Easter or Christmas to church I'll go to pray
But, only on those two days.
The rest of the week I don't go to church at all
To them I never do visit or call,
I would rather stay home and sleep in late
Or to do other activities on the date.
I don't spread the word of Christ to any other
And I don't have fellowship when I go with my mother,
I smoke and I drink and I think that Jesus doesn't care
Because, when I do go to church I sometimes say a prayer.
I have been told that I do many unchristian things
In my memory those accusations still rings,
But, I go to church at least twice yearly
And I have been told that Jesus loves me dearly.
Never on a Sunday or Wednesday do I go to church
I don't like to participate, so I don't search,
And I think going those two times a year is more than enough
I hope that sends me to heaven when I take my last puff.
