Twilight Poem by Richard D Remler

Twilight

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When this autumn twilight calls
the shadows from their secret lair,
I climb out from my nothingness
and for a moment I am there,
Lost within their sea of stars,
and drinking in their midnight song,
Breathing in a quiet peace
i never know for very long.
When autumn calls the twilight in,
it is her voice that soothes my soul,
A peaceful warmth that floods my night,
and for a moment I am whole.
I have similar thoughts and feelings about autumn twilight. 'For a moment I am whole.' Peace of mind is hard to reach and sustain for long.
