Twitching Of The Mouth Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Twitching Of The Mouth

Twitching of the mouth; the statue
Of Prometheus sang in the square
Beside the kingly statue; affinity;
The wires electric to the beach homes
Rang with fear and delay while
Lightning passed from sea to Ocean
Trembled the lands; the plain revolted

With
Black
And
Sooty
Hands
The
Stranded
Chimney-sweep
Stood
On
The
Plain
Round
He
Turned
For
This
Round
When
He
Saw
That
The
Mask
Of
Fear
Spoke
Loud
On
His
Face
And
Could
Not
Remove
It

Twitching of the mouth; the statue
Of Prometheus sang in the square
Beside the kingly statue; affinity;
The wires electric to the beach homes
Rang with fear and delay while
Lightning passed from sea to Ocean
Trembled the lands; the plain revolted
