Two Cats Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Two Cats

Two cats

Like raccoons in trash
Fat and round, are two cats
Nice and soft and furry
Have no home; sharp, alert
On four legs; sit awake
Cute and, seemingly wondrous
Once cuddled, now homeless
Two misfits; no place
It's unlike the old days
Wolf meant wolf and dog, dog
As did rats, birds and mice
Each had place; well-defined
Now all pets; toys for games
Obvious, we face change
If on road, means homeless
To adjust we must care
Remember; we'll be next.
