Two Friends Poem by Tony Adah

Two Friends

I told him my name
And melodies leapt from his mouth
He chanted uula la la!
I told him my name
He didn't ask for it
Meeting him I thought it the culture
To to do so.
Not knowing he could only understand
The sweet sound of my name
I asked questions and got
Dumb answers,
I decided to speak a universal
Language,
We two smiled
Then I hugged him.
