Typical Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Typical

Rating: 5.0

What if I looked differently?
Been way easier on those eyes?
Would I never had to of
Watched every word said?

You worship those
Peeked upon by vision's vanity
All from one blink of an eye

Many times I have walked on thin black ice
Never knowing where to fall
So befuddled by everything
So tired of it all

Seems like all of those past lovers
You cried to everyone about
Those who hurt you for the worse
Have way more respect than giving to me
So did you keep leading me on into oblivion?

You are not one but many
Each a façade
Running fast in circles
Way too long

Marathon runners
Speeding to find each of these errors
So you can tell me how much
Better mister right is
As you laugh calling me mister wrong

Yet, where are we?
Most importantly
Where am I?

I see you falling again
But I will never catch you again

Good luck finding love
Drama queens
Playing the part
In the play of redundancy
Being hurt again and again and again

Newsflash, I love myself
More than I ever did back then
And to your dismay
I am so much strong
Than I have ever been before

You are all so typical
All of you so ugly within
I might not ever be your type
But I rather be anyone
Of any of those guys
Who terrorizes
The best intentions of your hearts
Breaking them over and over again

Still, I pity you all
You are so much better than this

Stop being so typical
My former whatever
You thought we were
So far behind
Memories left for dead

This is more about the past than present
I have moved on for good

Yet, even I admit I have played the victim
I will never ever be typical in that extent

Everything is getting too old
Never will play this sad role ever again

After all I was the one who kept saying, yes
So I perhaps the one who should be blamed

So long typical
Ride away in shame

Swallow that razor blade pride
And let us all as one take the blame

Was this real or just a metaphor?
Decide for yourself
There is so much to this
Than typical
Ponder on
Untamed
