U Turn Poem by sreejith cherote

U Turn

Rating: 5.0

Illusions that allure me,
From the spiritual heights, to the material plane,
Is it a mirage, or is it an oasis,
Can I afford to experiment, by experience?
Or should I perceive from the precedence,
That, men have only one life to spoil,
One soul to enlighten,

If I have discovered the passage to the threshold of nothingness,
Is it proper to surrender to senses?
And follow the nerves, deviating from the path of the hero's to the warmth of blind worms.

But who is the dictator of the mandate,
That, the goal of the soul, is to break from the cyclic chain and be in the painless peace,

But isn’t it selfishness to be in the kingdom of peace,
Though achieved by lion heart and iron will,
To watch your brothers suffer in the dark,
Rather I opt to suffer with my brothers, than to be honored with the heroes.

A delicious blend of philosophy and spirituality, insightfully penned in poetic diction with conviction. A well articulated train of thought calling for universal brotherhood of man. Beautiful indeed. Thanks for sharing Sreejith. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
