Un Jour En France Poem by Gill Moore

Un Jour En France

Quite the most romantic room
topped the marble stair
where Charles De Gaulle had stood one day
to wed his wife so fair
a stained glass window oh so bright
shed the most amazing light
ruby emerald sapphire blue
colours shone in every hue
telling stories of the past
to those on whom its light it cast
we stood in awe then made our way
out into the light of day
where flower gardens met our eyes
with Rodin statues under skies
filled with heady French perfume
Calais in its fullest bloom
