Hollow love now unreturned,
where once the flame of passion burned.
An empty husk, a winnowed-soul;
a ragged heart no longer whole.
I'm unrequited, unrequired,
all undone and uninspired.
Withering through my unshared thoughts,
my unfound faith has come to nought.
Unburdened here in poor-wrought rhyme,
I understand all's healed in time.
My soul-mate lies in other's arms,
sighs to her eyes and other charms.
Meanwhile, unresolved I wait;
the subject of an unknown fate.
