He keeps a gun under his pillow
To give both peace and ease to his soul,
Up and down in comfort his chest does billow
Into a dreamworld he then does frantically patrol.
His gun is under his pillow on his bed
He dreams about carrying his Smith & Wesson,
In the the papers it reads of terror and dread
So, now he's prepared to teach a lesson.
His gun is his protection and his belief
He is always prepared for all terror and fright,
It protects him from all worries and grief
The devil or sinners might visit him tonight.
Those who live by the sword will die by the sword
That story unto me was once told,
So, I place my faith Jesus Christ my Lord
And his love and protection for me I will forever cherish and hold.
I go to sleep peacefully after saying my prayer
I too have read of hate, murder and robbery and treason,
With me I am never alone or unprotected there
Under my pillow I have my Bible for the same reason.
