Unforgettable Poem by Edwina Reizer

Unforgettable

I saw him as he looked my way
that one bright and sunny day.
His stare was as warm
as the sun in the sky.
Everything around me seemed to stop.
Even the beats of my heart did die.

The noise of the traffic I could not hear..
Every sound did disappear.
Nothing around me did I see,
only the stare transfixed on me.
And then I realized as my thoughts did swim
that I was also staring at him.

I shuttered my eyes and looked away
on that one bright and sunny day.
The heat of the moment passed me by
and ever since then I've wondered why
the look was gone and so was he
and never again his stare would I see.
