Unfulfilled Love Poem by Bireswar Halder

Unfulfilled Love

Rating: 4.0

Love like drops of bubbles grows and breaks all through
And youth in ephemeral drops moves on a lotus leaf
Carrying all along the sweet and bitter memories in life
Love is an elixir to life and the poison, a double edge.

The morning dew on a top of grass holds my breath
The sun rays fall and glitter like a diamond
I look on but forget its transience! What foolishness!
The sun rays make the dew fly like camphor.

I fall in deep love with her tender beauty like a dew
My several attempts fail to express my hidden desire of my heart
I only stare at her beauty whenever she comes before me
And I become a statue - left speechless and motionless

Before my love matures, she flies away like a bird
This leaves deep wounds in my soft heart, I pine
And I become terribly shocked, I get demented.
I lose my mental peace and harmony only for you, my dear.

I am floating in a river from one corner to another
The hungry crows jump on my body in a joyous mood
'Oh crows, eat all my organs except my two eyes
As my eyes are eager to see her face once, God willing! '.
