Unwanted Burden Poem by Bireswar Halder

Unwanted Burden

Negligence leads him to depression,
And becomes tormenting in seclusion,
For an emaciated man in his last days,
Having no hope of life where he stays.

Lying down on a bed with tearful eyes,
He only remembers his past colorful days,
When his presence was enjoyed by all,
Today nobody answers his aggrieved call.

He thinks it is a tragedy having no sympathy,
From the dearest ones who show no pity,
Why do people become so selfish and cruel?
Not showing respect to even a dying man.

Before giving sorrowful goodbye forever,
Cann`t he expect a little bit of love and care?
After the painful journey from all,
Can any feast bring peace to the departed soul?
