To deny oneself in pleasurable pursuit
to me is worse than death.
You give up living with purpose
until your final breath.
All these days you'll count one by one
and never feel complete.
And in the end you'll face the mirror
afraid of who you'll meet,
One whose deepest desires
were left alone to die.
They'll shout to the silence within them
'Why, God oh why? '
