Unison Poem by Matt Mooney

Unison

Rating: 5.0

Long distance call to Down Under,
And though you maybe out of sight,
I have a feeling you are curled up,
Emotionally, inside yourself tonight.
You were not one to give in easy,
To lose hope or even to complain
But yet your voice sounds serious
And the tone is muted all the same.
Your joie de vivre is just not there,
It’s all been locked up deep inside-
I’m lost for words myself right now-
The line is good but the world’s wide.
But soon again I plan to visit you,
To book a long-haul flight and fly
And in unison we will bridge the gap:
With our hugs and smiles, you and I.
