Unknown Friend Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Unknown Friend

It was hell from sky
The atomic bombs were to fly
Over Japanese territory
Whose king remained handy?

The plan went up and dropped
Untested weapon and not stopped
It was aimed at seeking early surrender
The Japanese sent peace feelers and offered

The hell was let loose on heaven
Two cities were reduced to ruins
The ghastly appearance was seen
The allies were hesitant for use but keen

The humanity witnessed holocaust
It was not natural but result from atomic blast
Millions lost lives over night
As if cities never existed

We salute TO the efforts made by unknown
Sympathizers and donors
Who took the task of rebuilding?
But after conditional yielding

What shall we term it?
Was it necessary to turn?
The war zone into peaceful world
The miseries remained untold
